Serial data busses such as Ethernet are widely used to transfer data from sensors. This presentation will explain how oscilloscopes with the ability to trigger and decode on serial protocols provide the ability to measure and analyze latency and bus loading enabling designers to optimize the performance of embedded systems. Understanding latency is essential for system designers understand the latency among these signals so that decisions can be made in a timely manner.
