This tutorial will analyze the design and subsequent improvements made to an optical liquid analysis platform, focusing on the benefits of using standard hardware and open-source software frameworks to accelerate all phases of system design, from proof of concept to production. Application of these frameworks to other sensor technologies such as temperature, angular rate, acceleration, and general-purpose analog input / output, will also be presented and demonstrated.
