Ranging has long been the Holy Grail for precision location systems, powering technologies such as GPS and Ultrawideband (UWB)—but at a cost: these systems are often too expensive for tracking most items and have onerous power requirements or finicky installation procedures.
In June 2021, Link Labs launched AirFinder XLE, its next generation Real-time Location System (RTLS) that dramatically improves accuracy with a more finely-tuned precision location finder via ultra-wideband. With six new patent-pending technologies, AirFinder XLE represents three technological breakthroughs: 1) Accuracy everywhere at the meter-level; 2) Improved battery life at the tag level (5-7 year XLE battery life, 3x-10x longer); 3) Reduced cost of infrastructure/enhanced ease of installation.
Link Labs CEO Bob Proctor will present each of AirFinder XLE’s technology milestones, discuss industry use cases during the product’s early access program in early 2021 and offer his outlook about future opportunities and challenges for asset tracking.
